MANAGED DATA SERVICES

“Managed Data Services allow users to benefit from sophisticated, cutting-edge applications at a highly reduced cost.”

‘Managed Data Services’ are Web-based database and mapping applications hosted internally at Mott MacDonald, providing significant savings due to economies of scale. Hardware, software licence, and backup costs, traditionally the most expensive parts of many Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) projects, are shared between an ever increasing number of customers allowing all users to derive maximum benefit from minimum expenditure. Due to the centralised nature of Managed Data Services, data and application updates can be rolled-out simultaneously to all users without the need for expensive and time consuming site visits or shipping of service packs. Users get instant access to the data they need quickly and directly and this is all achieved without additional demands being made on the customer’s IT resources.

Mott MacDonald’s hardware, software, data and project management procedures are ISO9001 and ISO14001 compliant, we are MapInfo GIS development partners and we also possess the prestigious Microsoft Gold Certified Partner award for Software Solutions and Networking Infrastructure Solutions.

Severn Trent GRAD – design, development and support of a Web-hosted Asset Management database for Groundwater assets designed and developed in conjunction with our colleagues in Mott MacDonald's Water & Environment division.  GRAD features an expandable hierarchical data model including detailed information on condition grading, performance monitoring and construction. GRAD allows the rapid searching and retrieval of information throughout the asset hierarchy. A number of ad-hoc reports are also available in a variety of standard templates.

Severn Trent GRAD - Asset Management on the Internet

Anglian Water Secure Downloads – as part of a database redevelopment commission, a secure download website was developed. This was created to allow the upload and download of files to facilitate the sharing of large documents, which due to their size or format could not be emailed due to network security and firewall constraints. The application has significantly simplified information sharing and eased project delivery.

PRISM Online – design, development and support of a website for the West Midland Multi-Modal Transport Model - PRISM. The site includes detailed information about PRISM, current projects, news and contacts and has been designed to maximise the exposure of PRISM within the wider transport modelling community.
